Navigating New Waters: My Next Journey

Welcome to my newsletter for those of you who are new to it and getting to know me. As you might already guess, my deep passion for water, boating, and adventure is a significant part of who I am. Many of my brief newsletters are nautically themed, reflecting this passion. So, let's set sail on my latest epic adventure: my new role at Aflac.

Much like the unpredictable tides in an epic seafaring saga, my professional journey has been one of exciting plot twists, uncharted territories, and profound growth.

From my humble beginnings on a farm working side-by-side with my twin brother to charting an exciting course at HPE and later to co-piloting the integration of SereneIT into Verinext, each chapter has been a testament to the power of vision, focus, collaboration, and resilience.

As I sailed through my endeavors’ calm (and, at times, a bit stormy) seas, I have always sought and remained focused upon the horizon, eager to discover new frontiers. Over the past year, I have enjoyed reflecting upon the journey thus far while contemplating future destinations for my professional voyage. I am excited about what is to come!

I am thrilled to announce that I have embarked on a new expedition. I am honored to serve as the Vice President of Enterprise Architecture at Aflac, where I will report to Shelia Anderson , CIO. This new role presents a thrilling challenge and the promise of impactful contributions in furthering Aflac’s commitment to innovation and excellence.

As I set sail towards this new horizon, I am buoyed by the incredible support and experiences shaping my journey thus far. With a history of launching and delivering IT projects on time and within budget, combined with my collaboration and leadership philosophy, I am excited to embark on this new journey at Aflac.

This journey will leverage my understanding of emerging technologies, enterprise architecture, and transformative technology services. My focus will be to translate technology into business outcomes. With strong analytical, planning, and organizational skills developed through prior roles and the support of past teams, I am well-prepared to contribute effectively to Aflac’s digital future.

Lastly, I want to express how humbled and honored I am to be part of such an outstanding leadership team, amazing people, and a fantastic company with a rich culture like Aflac. I am excited to leverage my background in technology and leadership to help steer our digital transformation.

To every entrepreneur, leader, and visionary mapping their course, this is a reminder that it's not just the destination but the journey that enriches your story. Smooth seas do not make skillful sailors, and the challenges we embrace carve our true legacy.

Here’s to navigating new waters and charting unparalleled paths to success.
