In her insightful book Coaching: The Secret Code to Uncommon Leadership,@Ruchira Chaudhary highlights how leadership has evolved in today’s fast-paced, ever-changing world. But she also points to a critical issue: the growing leadership gap.

The World Economic Forum predicts that by 2025, millennials will make up 75% of the global workforce. While this represents a fresh wave of talent, it also brings a new challenge: developing leaders from within this generation.

According to Mark C. Perna in his Forbes article, 3 Reasons For The Coming Leadership Deficit—And How To Fix It, the question for 2024 and beyond is not "how do we find the best leaders?", but rather "how do we inspire our people to reach their leadership potential?"

Also, the 2023 Global Leadership Forecast from DDI reveals a worrying trend: leadership quality is on the decline. Across 50+ countries and 24 industries, data from over 1,800 HR experts and nearly 14,000 leaders showed a 17% drop in companies with high-quality leadership, down to just 40%.

This is the steepest decline in a decade

Despite a pool of high performers, many organizations still face a leadership void. Why? Because they often focus solely on superstar performers without considering whether those individuals possess the soft skills necessary for leadership—like collaboration, empathy, and teamwork.

The author proposes a recipe for developing superstar leaders, combining superlative performance and high potential as the base ingredients combined with a generous dash of motivation, desire to lead, grit and constant nurturing.
