Navigating the Journey of Xena Foresight: An Insider’s View on Building an AI-Driven E-Commerce Tool
As the CEO of Xena, leading my team through the intricate process of software development has been both challenging and enlightening. We embarked on this journey with a clear mission: to empower e-commerce sellers, including brands, drop shippers, and private label companies, to automate and optimize their listings on Amazon using cutting-edge AI.
The Genesis of Xena Foresight
The idea for Xena Foresight originated from a simple yet ambitious goal: to simplify and improve e-commerce listings. Our initial concept was to allow sellers to input their Amazon or Walmart product links, and our platform would then display an enhanced version of their listings. This initial wireframe provided a basic before-and-after view, offering sellers a glimpse of what they could achieve through our tool.
Tackling Early Challenges
As we developed our first usable UI, we quickly learned that our tool needed to be intuitive. The initial feedback from real users indicated that the Amazon-style page was confusing, and the logic behind the new listings wasn't clear. This was crucial feedback, as it highlighted the need for a cleaner interface and clearer prompts that explained the data sources and analytics behind the suggestions.
Iteration and Improvement
Responding to user feedback, we made significant changes in our second version. We streamlined the UI, reduced clutter, and improved the clarity of prompts during the listing generation process. This version provided a better understanding for users as they waited for their new listings, showing data gathered from Amazon, Xena’s internal database, competitive analysis, and online trends.
Enhancing User Experience
Despite these improvements, we still faced challenges with usability. Users wanted the ability to manually edit listings before finalizing them. So, we simplified the landing page and integrated a feature-rich dashboard that allowed for direct comparisons of before-and-after listings, keyword customization, and immediate insights into the SEO value of terms used.

Continuous Evolution and User-Centric Design
Our commitment to listening to our users and continuously refining our product led to further enhancements. We introduced the ability to delete, copy, paste, and regenerate listings directly, and even added functionalities for direct publishing to Amazon and downloading data in Excel format for easy uploads.
Looking Ahead
