Navigating the Intersection of Engineering and Business

Jonathan Nataprawira was born in Indonesia. He grew up in Jakarta, surrounded by the bustling urban landscape and diverse cultural influences of the city. Education has always been something that his parents prioritized, and Jonathan was encouraged to excel academically from a young age. His middle-class upbringing instilled in him a strong work ethic and a drive to succeed. He always believed in the power of knowledge and continuous learning to positively impact his life and the lives of others.?

In 2008, he started his higher education journey at the Swiss German University in Indonesia, where he pursued a degree in Industrial Engineering. He had his first encounter with the real business world during his internship at DAIMLER, Germany. During his time there, Jonathan gained hands-on experience in project management and process improvement. This experience sparked his interest in business processes and inspired him to further explore the intersection of engineering and business. Not only being exposed to the working environment, Jonathan also took the opportunity to immerse himself in the cultural diversity of Germany, further shaping his global perspective. His openness to new experiences and eagerness to learn from different cultures has been instrumental in his personal and professional development. It led him to explore various opportunities, in and out of Indonesia, for growth and self-improvement both within and outside of his academic studies.?

Jonathan’s commitment to lifelong learning and his proactive approach to personal development have played a significant role in shaping his educational and professional journey. He is pursuing his MBA with the Collins College of Business at the University of Tulsa and he will be graduating in December. Throughout his educational and professional journey, Jonathan aims to not only acquire knowledge and skills but also develop a holistic understanding of the business world. He is driven by the belief that working smart, not just hard, is the key to success. Project management is one of Jonathan’s interest areas, where he feels that combining his engineering and business background will allow him to effectively lead and execute projects, taking into consideration both technical and business aspects. He sees his life as his biggest never-ending project, with each day presenting a new stage for growth and development.?
