In other words, the smarter or more capable someone was at passing exams or solving complex problems, the higher their position in life would be.

However, over the last three to four decades, #emotionalintelligence has started to emerge as something we need to look at and give special attention to. And furthermore, in today's world, we increasingly realize that Emotional Intelligence is the main foundation of virtuous behavior.

It is what sets apart individuals who thrive and succeed.

While some people may have a natural inclination towards Emotional Intelligence, it can and should be developed and improved throughout life.

Many aspects of these skills can be learned and honed through #education , personal experiences, practice, and #selfdevelopment . Working on Emotional Intelligence means gaining clarity about our own emotions and bringing them into consciousness. It involves observing what happens within us, acknowledging the feelings within ourselves, and situating, contextualizing, and analyzing them.

This leads to a tremendous gain in awareness and #selfknowledge that can only be beneficial in future experiences.

The different beauties of human beings

When we talk about the beauties of human beings, one of them is called #EmotionalBeauty , which is when a person has balance in their interactions with others.

Imagine this scenario: you encounter someone who possesses a so captivating physical beauty that it attracts and mesmerizes you. Moreover, as you engage in a delightful conversation, you discover that this person is not only beautiful but also incredibly #intelligent . It's hard not to feel immense admiration, right?

....however, things take an unexpected turn. The conversation shifts towards #conflict and disagreement. Impatience, rudeness, harsh words, and even irony become to be his/her #communication style.

...gradually you realize that this person is someone challenging to connect with, emotionally unappealing. Your admiration transforms into repulsion, and the desire is to be far away from there.

Can you see how the absence of emotional beauty corrodes all other forms of beauty?

Emotional Intelligence is an essential prerequisite for any other qualities a person may possess. It serves as the bedrock for their aspirations and endeavors, as the absence of it undermines every facet of life.

Out of Control

When analyzing the etymology of the word "emotions" we see that it means "movement" or "action of moving”.

Contextualizing, #emotions are movements that occur within us as survival mechanisms to bring us closer to what can be beneficial or to distance us from what can be harmful, and because of this aspect, they elude our control.

Yes! We cannot control emotions in the same way we control our behaviors.

That is, you can fall in love with someone, feel anger towards a coworker, or experience fear or terror in a dangerous situation; these feelings will arise within you regardless of your will.

However, despite not having control over the impulses of these emotions that erupt within us at any given moment, we have the power to manage our behaviors and determine what to say or how to act in each of these situations.

Therefore, Emotional Intelligence is not about controlling emotions, but rather about being able to manage them within ourselves!

Thus, it's no wonder that not knowing how to deal with emotions or how to interpret them naturally leads us to a state of desynchronization.

The synonym for desynchronized or asynchrony is #stress , and chronic stress is synonymous with #illness . Therefore, if all these negative issues stem from the inability to perceive, validate, and manage emotions, on the other hand, when we can do that effectively, we build #health and harmony.

Emotional Intelligence is simply honoring the privilege of having a balanced and prosperous life.

According to the WHO (World Health Organization), #anxietydisorders including stress or panic syndrome, are common mental health issues worldwide, affecting approximately 264 million people, as stated in their report on "Depression and Other Common Mental Disorders: Global Health Estimates".

Those who are aware that their thoughts are linked to their emotions, according to the sensations they experience, can analyze why a particular conscious content comes to mind and not another, or why they are thinking about something at this moment and not something else.

This analysis holds a great deal of self-knowledge, and that is tremendously auspicious and brings a great sense of security.

Individuals who completely ignore what happens within themselves are at the mercy of chance and the situations the world imposes upon them, whereas if you have clarity and awareness regarding the #relationship between sensations, emotions, and thoughts, you are much better equipped to know which path to take and which one to avoid.

The risk of destruction

The lack of Emotional Intelligence functions like small dynamite sticks that keep exploding everything we've built.

It's not about our potential; it's about the maintenance we do throughout life.

We can construct a massive castle over the years, but without Emotional Intelligence, we may destroy it in just one day... and destruction is always much easier.
