AI's Impact on Product Management:?

Albert Dias delved into which aspects of product management might be revolutionized by AI. His perspective on liberating time from tasks that demand synthesis of vast information resonated, paving the way for focusing on high-value, intuition-centric work. A nod to Nesrine Changuel, PhD for her insightful talk on emotionally motivated AI, left us inspired to infuse moments of delight into our product experiences.

Learning by Doing:?

Oriol Garcia Gomez 's talk on side projects served as a powerful reminder that hands-on experience is an unparalleled teacher. His suggestion to jot down three potential project ideas daily struck a chord, leading many to embark on new learning journeys. We know that some attendees were inspired to enroll in a 90-day free trial of Google Cloud AI after Oriol's talk.

Overcoming Fear for Positive Change:?

Avni Shah 's conversation with Raphael Leiteritz on overcoming fear stood out, highlighting the positive signals fear can provide for driving change. The approach of making significant decisions and allowing them to marinate overnight resonated, providing a thoughtful framework for navigating critical career and life choices.

Visual Product Management or the versatility of GenAI

Julia Steier led a workshop on Visual Product Management empowered by GenAI's image generation capabilities. This showcased GenAI's versatility, from providing inspiration to aiding in learning how to draw and generating images, whether imaginative or replicating existing elements.

Redefining Product Operating Models:

The Product Operating Model took center stage with insights from Gint? Skersyt? and Florian Goerisch . Gint? shared Ocado's journey, emphasizing the transition from a narrow focus on delivery as a Product Owner to the broader scope of a Product Manager, including business strategy, vision, mission, and user needs.

Florian Goerisch's bold perspective suggested that only 20% of a Product Manager's time should be spent on delivery, challenging traditional role definitions and highlighting the strategic and visionary facets of a Product Manager's responsibilities.

Leadership and Strategy:?

The workshop led by Aleksander Uznański emphasized the strategic aspects of leading product development organizations. Concrete takeaways underscored the need to lean into strategic thinking, offering actionable steps for product leaders to implement within their teams.

CEO Perspective:?

His vision undoubtedly left a mark on the audience, offering insights into the future of product management through the lens of a company driving collaborative innovation.

Women in Product:?

We also had a special event for Women in Product. Minal Mehta reminded us of the importance to connect with our inner calling, to create products and take decisions from that inner place of truth we all hold.

She described this recipe:

  1. create room and space for yourself
  2. tune into your quiet inner voice
  3. run safe-to-fail experiments by trying to be more in line with your intuition - without quitting your job right away
  4. then shift to bigger and bolder moves.

Also Egon Zehnder ’s Mark Krymalowski , Judith Pertl , and Sara Najafi led a session for female product leaders focused on overcoming obstacles, reflecting on identity, and finding your own voice.
