Navigating Dreamforce 2024: Insider Tips, Top Sessions, and San Francisco Delights
Greetings, LinkedIn community! It’s that time of year again when I post a revamped version of my LinkedIn article in hopes of helping others navigate Dreamforce 2024 ! I am excited to share my insights and recommendations on how to make this Dreamforce an experience to remember, including what I experienced in 2024. Dreamforce is a conference and a culmination of a community that feels like a reunion.
As in years past, I will share sessions to look out for and some of my favorite culinary spots!
So, whether you're a seasoned Dreamforce attendee, a first-timer eagerly awaiting the excitement or a Dreamforce veteran, I hope you use this article to gain some helpful advice on navigating this inspiring event. In the words of Matthew McConaughey , a guest speaker, let’s get to it. “All right, all right, all right.” Here are some of my favorites. Let the countdown begin!
Sessions: As you navigate Dreamforce 2024, it's crucial to tailor your experience to align with your unique roles within our respective organizations. While keynote sessions undoubtedly offer valuable insights and industry trends, they can be repetitive. However, the key themes in all keynotes will be plentiful throughout all sessions. Do not overlook the transformative potential of roundtable discussions. These intimate gatherings are not just about exchanging ideas but about being part of a collaborative community, engaging in in-depth conversations, and exchanging practical strategies that resonate with daily challenges. So, whether you're a visionary leader, a tech enthusiast, a sales guru, or a marketing maven, consider how roundtables offer the precise solutions and connections that can make your Dreamforce journey even more impactful. I typically avoid most sessions if they are also available on Salesforce+. I do favorite those sessions and then watch them later. They are also great to share with fellow team members who did not have the opportunity to attend Dreamforce.
At Dreamforce 2024, I expect AI (Artificial Intelligence) to be a prominent theme. Of course, in true Salesforce fashion, an acquisition of Own is sure to be discussed, and Data Cloud , Salesforce's fastest-growing revenue producer, will bring all of it together.
Organizations are continuing to navigate the impact AI may make on Salesforce and other technologies. Many organizations are discovering that they are not sure how to navigate this AI landscape. However, with AI's potential to transform Salesforce and other technologies, it's crucial to stay informed and prepared. Agentforce may alleviate some confusion and provide a tangible AI solution that feels more like a ChatGPT.
Here are some exciting sessions:
The Session Builder is an excellent tool for exploring the sessions available by role, product, and type of session.
Last year, the sessions were difficult to get into, and this year will be more of the same, judging by the locations of the sessions. I am seeing many sessions in Moscone. If you are on the reserved seating list, I suggest you line up at least 30 minutes early. In years past, the sessions were spread across a larger geographical footprint and presented more options for attendance, and it was much easier to join via the reserved list. Unfortunately, last year's model will carry over into this year, which will prove challenging to attend more than a couple of sessions daily.
Restaurants:
From charming eateries in historic neighborhoods to chic, modern establishments boasting panoramic views, the city's diverse culinary scene offers a symphony of flavors waiting to be savored. Here are some of my favorite restaurants in San Francisco, each a unique chapter in the city's rich culinary story. Whether you're an avid food enthusiast or simply looking for a taste of the extraordinary or a quiet place to chat and enjoy good food, these culinary havens promise to delight and inspire in equal measure.

For the last 58 years, Scoma’s has set out to illustrate its story with its ever-evolving pier-to-plate menu, and it does not disappoint. Because of the fresh seafood, it’s one of my San Francisco staples.

###
Tadich Grill: https://tadichgrillsf.com/
Tadich Grill is one of my all-time favorites. Located in the heart of San Francisco’s Financial District, Tadich Grill is the oldest continuously run restaurant in California and the third oldest in the United States. I’m also happy to report that they now take reservations!
1.4 Miles from Moscone (10-minute car ride)
###
Sears Fine Food: https://www.searsfinefood.com/m
Sears Fine Food has a rich history that dates back to 1938 and since has worked hard to preserve its history and tradition. Its atmosphere and cuisine remain a classic constant.
Sears Fine Food is most famous for its 18 Swedish pancakes, made with its original family recipe since the early 30s. This is my favorite breakfast location; however, I get there early, as they don’t take reservations for breakfast.
1.2 Miles from Moscone (8-minute car ride)
###
Ryoko’s Japanese Restaurant: https://www.ryokos.com/home
This was an accidental find, and if you like Sushi, you’re in luck. Ryoko’s only serves the freshest organic vegetables and all-natural premium meats. Don’t let the outside appearance fool you. This restaurant is a must-try.
No reservations.

The Library (Speakeasy): https://www.bourbonandbranch.com/library
Look for a large wooden door, ring the buzzer and use the password "books". You will be escorted to the secret location with floor-to-ceiling books from our favorite time. Don’t be surprised if you see a celebrity or two, but no pictures, please!
Reservations can be made for the main bar.

###
Frascati: https://www.frascatisf.com/menus/
Frascati is an Italian-style bistro, located in one of San Francisco’s most desirable neighborhoods – Russian Hill. I booked this restaurant for a client dinner; since then, it’s become one of my favorites.

Attractions:
San Francisco is a mesmerizing tapestry of history, culture, and breathtaking landscapes. From the impressive silhouette of the Golden Gate Bridge to the enchanting Lombard Street, this city boasts a collection of iconic sights that capture the essence of its allure. I’ve included some of my favorite San Francisco landmarks, each a testament to the city's unique character and the stories it has to tell. Whether you're a curious traveler or a seasoned local, these sites promise to immerse you in the captivating embrace of the City by the Bay.
On Fisherman’s Warf, check out Musee Mecanique. One of the world's largest privately owned collections of coin-operated mechanical musical instruments and antique arcade artifacts. You can play with any of our 300-plus machines in their original working condition. Some of the pieces have been featured on television, and the museum is free. https://museemecanique.com/

The sea lions camped out in PIER 39’s West Marina have been endearingly coined The PIER’s “Sea Lebrities.” The boisterous pinnipeds started arriving in droves in January 1990, shortly after the 1989 Loma Prieta earthquake. At first, they numbered from 10-50, but due to a plentiful herring supply, available dock space, and the marina’s protected environment, the population grew to more than 300 within a few months.
