I am about to hit 50k followers on LinkedIn

I am about to hit 50k followers on LinkedIn

As I am inching closer towards 50k followers on LinkedIn, I have started thinking about …

  1. How did the journey begin?
  2. What was the trigger?
  3. Why did I grow my connections initially?
  4. What motivated me to start writing on LinkedIn?
  5. Why on earth do people follow me??

A sort of internal conflict, doubt, and too many questions.?

Probably because with the ability to influence comes responsibility.?Probably because I fear if I will be able to continue the momentum??Probably because I feel the pressure to maintain the quality of work as I grow.

I have observed my whole content creation process and tried to figure out where I get the ideas from? What’s the source? - so that I can teach it to others.?

The truth is, “I don’t know”

Sometimes, I get an idea while taking shower, sometimes while taking my dog for a walk, and sometimes while watering my plants - but, I make sure I quickly make a note of it whenever an idea hits me.?

Then I write about it, fine-tune it, edit it, and post it.?

A good post reaches more than 1 lakh people within a day.?

Feels Amazing.?Powerful. Sort of Superpower.?

No other social media has this kind of organic growth right now.?

I am grateful to Linkedin because?:

1 - I have built my entire business on LinkedIn with zero marketing budget (so far)?

2 - I found my first freelancing client on LinkedIn

3 - I got multiple Job Offers without chasing recruiters

4 - I started training & consulting and so far it’s going well.?

5 - I have met some wonderful people, learned from them, and built strong relationships.?

I never chased anyone for work, or clients, I devoted all my time to building my personal brand on LinkedIn by providing value to my network consistently without expecting anything in return.?

I have realized your network on LinkedIn is an asset, which is never going away. Your network is your net worth.?

It can take 6 to 8 months to build, but it’s forever.?

Your network is forever. Your personal brand is forever.

Just like building a real home, once you build it you can give it on rent anytime you want and start earning. (Asset)?

But all of it goes back to the question

Why did I start? Why should you start?

The fact is initially it was just for fun.??

I started because I found it interesting.?

But once I hit 10k followers and people started approaching me for work, things changed forever.?

The day people start approaching you for work, you will realize the power of LinkedIn and your perspective will change.

Before we wind up, let me tell you a brief story ...

One of my interns told me that she didn’t even have a LinkedIn Account 6 months back. Her friends forced her to create one. Within a few days, she found me and cold messaged me looking for an internship (something she had never done before).?

We spoke and I offered her the role.?

Did you see what happened?

The opportunity didn’t knock on her door. She made the opportunity for herself.?She took the effort to reach out to me.?

Sometimes, it can happen on the 1st attempt, sometimes it can take 100 attempts. But there is no way, you are not going to get success if you approach people with a strategy and express a deep desire to work.?

That’s it.?Hope I made sense.?

Hope this post will inspire you to achieve your goal.?

Cheers !!

Surojit?

Our story is somewhat similar. My all digital clients(right now few but good for one "Woman" army :) ) are from LinkedIn. Linkedin is the only place where I get work. I am enjoying posting on LinkedIn more than on the other platforms. I got expertise in LinkedIn marketing more than other social media platforms. I feel "Real" and "Meaningful" conversations on LinkedIn. I must say this will be a common thing between us: we both love LinkedIn the most and we will always respect LinkedIn for our career growth.
