In the dynamic realm of construction, a recent study conducted by consultancy Currie & Brown on behalf of the Building Engineering Services Association (BESA) has unveiled intriguing insights. While the Building Safety Act 2022 is on the horizon, the study reveals a shifting focus among construction clients towards meeting net zero goals.

The market, however, shows signs of a “softening” as cost pressures lead to significant project delays.

Richard Hill, director at Currie & Brown, shared during a BESA round table that new orders experienced a more than 7% dip in the second quarter of this year. With the general economy expected to remain flat and slow inflation decline until the middle of next year, a full recovery isn’t anticipated until 2025.
