3 个月In 1997, as a volunteer veteran entrepreneur advocate, I initiated then helped draft the requirements contained in the Veterans Entrepreneurship and Small Business Development Act of 1999 (PL 106-50). DEI policies did not yet exist. Veterans preference programs were found constitutional in the 1970s BUT it took us a quarter of a century of advocacy to secure what became PL 106-50 through Congress & over the objections of various Administrations. We generally support the inclusion of every type of American entrepreneurs, including DEI because our community of veterans are the most diverse community of Citizens in America, & because we understand that everyone in America must have the opportunity to succeed for America to fully prosper. The history of our struggle (as veterans and as disabled veteran entrepreneurs) to have our place at our governments opportunity table was not automatic, it took serious work & diligence from many to accomplish.
