Meet Sarah, a talented graphic designer with a passion for visual storytelling. Armed with a diploma in graphic design, she enthusiastically started looking for a job. Sarah has carefully prepared her portfolio, demonstrating her creative skills and technical skills. However, despite her best efforts, she faced numerous rejections.
One notable rejection came from a well-established design agency. After an intensive interview, Sarah was sure that she would get this position. However, she received an email saying that although her portfolio was impressive, they had chosen another candidate with more experience. Sarah was discouraged, but determined to keep looking for work. she began to send her resume to companies that are abroad and received an answer from everywhere: "sorry, but we are not ready to offer you this position." It should be understood that foreign companies are not ready to hire people from a distant country, afraid to trust them and possibly help with relocation and visa. This is a business, it is easier for them to hire a designer from a certain city, as I have already said, the competition is very high and from dozens of resumes you can choose a convenient specialist without burdening yourself with the problems of a migrant, labor visas, etc. Yes, you can object, because the developers of the program code work remotely, practically working for years for a company that is located somewhere in Brazil. the fact is that programming languages and specialists in this field are more like np talented tschen and it is impossible to compare their design. Graphic design is a separate specificity with strict rules. So when you receive another rejection from a company located in Singapore or somewhere in Shanghai, then understand the reason and do not blame yourself for incompetence. From my experience, I can say that it is difficult to find a job as a graphic designer and a lot also depends on luck, and in COUNTRIES WHERE THERE are FEW JOBS AND A LOT OF CORRUPTION, THE RIGHT ACQUAINTANCE AND THE RIGHT CONNECTIONS DECIDE A LOT. Sarah is now just looking for herself in another industry since design has not even given her a starting step.
Conclusion:
The difficulty of obtaining a job as a graphic designer today is influenced by several factors. The saturation of the job market, rapid technological advancements, the importance of a strong portfolio, limited entry-level opportunities, and the need for diverse skill sets all contribute to the challenge. However, with persistence, continuous learning, and a resilient mindset, aspiring graphic designers can navigate these hurdles and carve out successful careers in this dynamic field.
