Running a business is an adventure, a journey filled with highs and lows, triumphs and challenges. For me, it's about more than just profits and market dominance—it's about helping others chase their dreams and achieve their goals. But amidst the excitement and fulfillment, I've come to a sobering realization: I might not be cut out for the ruthless, cutthroat aspects of the business world.
The relentless pursuit of profits at any cost, the urge to obliterate the competition, the willingness to manipulate and deceive for the sake of sales—these are traits that I simply don't have and can't tap into. I refuse to view others as mere obstacles standing in the way of my success. I can't begin to think of people or their life's work as something to be conquered. I can't bring myself to engage in underhanded tactics to get ahead. Call it naivety or idealism, but it's just not who I am. And even with that realization, I refuse to change who I am or how I operate to make a quick buck.
Yet, does this admission mean I'm destined for failure? It's a question that lingers with me, casting a shadow of doubt over my aspirations. Something I struggle with daily. I'd love to paint a rosy picture, to declare that staying true to oneself is a foolproof path to success. But reality is seldom so kind. Good people with noble intentions often find themselves trampled underfoot, their dreams shattered by the relentless march of ruthless competitors. I don't yet know my fate, or which category I will fall into, but I do know I will do everything I can to succeed while remaining who I am, or I will die unsuccessful, or at least by our society's standards. And I'm perfectly fine with that. I've succeeded in some ways and areas that people will never know or understand.?
Still, amidst the uncertainty, I find solace in my strengths:
Empathy: I care deeply about the impact of my actions on others, perhaps even to a fault.
Open-mindedness: I'm always eager to listen, learn, and consider perspectives beyond my own.
Drive and Determination: When I set my sights on a goal, I pursue it relentlessly, refusing to back down in the face of adversity.

Persistence: I see every challenge through to its resolution, refusing to be deterred by setbacks.
Resourcefulness: No matter how daunting the obstacle, I always manage to find a way forward.
So, how does one navigate the treacherous waters of the business world while upholding integrity and decency? It's a question that has plagued many before me and one for which there are no easy answers. But perhaps therein lies the beauty of the journey—the opportunity to forge our own path, to carve out a niche where success is measured not only in profits but also in the lives we touch and the principles we uphold.
For me, it's about staying true to who I am, even when the world around me seems intent on pushing me off course. It's about finding allies who share my values, and who believe that success is not a zero-sum game but a collective triumph. Even if I do currently find myself alone in my efforts and endeavors at the moment. It's about embracing the challenges as opportunities for growth, recognizing that even in the darkest moments, there is always a glimmer of hope, a chance to emerge stronger and more resilient than before.
So here's to all the dreamers and idealists out there, navigating the murky waters of the business world with integrity and courage. May we stay true to ourselves, even when the tide turns against us, and may our journeys be defined not by the heights of our profits, but by the depths of our character.
Stay true to yourself. You got this. Keep going!
