Questions from the Greatness Community:
Hi Lewis,
I’m currently navigating a challenging phase where I’m entrenched in a toxic job while passionately growing my side business with the limited time I have in the evenings. As a dedicated mother and wife, it’s tough to find the energy and confidence to network and truly put myself out there. Could you share some strategies or insights on pushing through such a difficult period and building the confidence necessary to make meaningful connections and advance my business? - M.?
Hey there M,
I hear you.?

It takes an incredible amount of strength to juggle multiple roles, especially when your heart is pulling you towards your side business but the job feels like a drain. First off, give yourself credit for the determination and passion you're putting into that side hustle despite the challenges. Balancing family, work, and your own aspirations is no small feat.
One key strategy is to embrace the power of small steps. Each day, aim for just a little progress. It could be reaching out to one new connection, dedicating 30 minutes to networking, or setting aside specific evenings for your side business. These little wins build up, boosting your confidence and energy gradually.
Remember, networking doesn't have to be daunting. Seek out communities or events where you feel a connection or shared interest. It might surprise you how supportive and empowering these environments can be. And while time might be limited, when you do engage in networking, be fully present. Authenticity and genuine connections often create a stronger impact than trying to network with everyone.
Lastly, self-care is vital. Take moments for yourself, whether it's a short walk, meditation, or something that rejuvenates you. It might seem like it takes away time, but it refuels your energy and confidence, making every other task more manageable.
You're on a remarkable journey, and although it’s challenging, the resilience you're building now will carry you to incredible places. Keep believing in yourself and the value of what you’re creating. You've got this.
Sending love,?

9 个月Great share Lewis Howes - small steps to meeting more people is helpful to get out of a toxic job. I’d also suggest she start giving less of herself in the toxic job. Say “no” more often and do B- work so she has more energy to focus on her family, herself, and her networking for a new job. If she can cut down the energy she gives to the current job, that’s going to help a lot.

9 个月I read your article and couldn’t agree more Lewis Howes. It takes effort to build something out of your work and doing it at ease is an art. We all stumble upon something or other but what stands still is the determination and effective management of all the things at hand.? I wish all the luck to the people who are struggling with their passion and profession, you can and you will do it, just keep trying.
