Language Spotlight

Python has emerged as a powerhouse in the realms of AI, Machine Learning, and data science, becoming the go-to language for professionals in these fields. Its simplicity and readability, combined with a vast ecosystem of libraries and frameworks like TensorFlow, PyTorch, and scikit-learn, make it exceptionally well-suited for developing and implementing complex algorithms.

Python can be integrated with different engines to leverage their unique capabilities, enhancing both performance and functionality. For instance, Python's integration capabilities with Apache Spark illustrate its flexibility and power in the data processing and analytics domains. PySpark, the Python API for Apache Spark, exemplifies this integration. It allows Python programmers to access Spark's distributed data processing capabilities. PySpark makes it possible to write Python code that harnesses the power of Spark's engine for big data processing, analytics, and machine learning.

Dask, Hadoop, and Ray are other powerful engines that can be integrated with Python, further showcasing the various applications of Python and strengthening its leading position as one of the coding languages that remains massively popular amongst developers.

Familiarize yourself with Python’s various uses if you have taken the Python career route. Its integration capabilities with other languages and tools make it versatile for diverse project requirements, which can open doors to a range of cutting-edge projects without needing to dive into more complex programming paradigms.

Check out this open position that will give you the opportunity to dive into the world of Python and Spark headfirst.

The Pulse of IT

INSAIT - Institute for Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence and Technology announced the launch of BgGPT, the first open state-of-the-art language model for Bulgarian language, created for the Bulgarian government, science, business, and all Bulgarian citizens. Different from other GPT platforms, the model behind BgGPT is fully open with a permissive license (Apache 2.0) and can be used freely by public and private organizations. The first version of BgGPT is trained on more than 3 billion Bulgarian sentences and consists of more than 7 billion parameters. The chat application will be publicly available to everyone and will be launched on 3 March. You can now sign up for early access here, whereas access will be given preferentially to science, education, business organizations, and public institutions.
