Naveed Zakariya (Lead Application Developer)--> Shared his Recent project-Experience:

Project Overview:

As part of my role, I worked on the Pioneer Water Tank (PWT) project. This application is designed to handle online details, orders, and quotations for water power tanks specifically for commercial and industrial use. The primary users are customers from these sectors who need reliable and efficient solutions for their water tank requirements. The project focuses on providing a comprehensive business-oriented application that meets the unique demands of commercial and industrial clients.

Major Issues Faced:

  • Diverse Business Domains: The project codebase encompassed various business domains, each with different end-customer scopes. No business documents were available to understand the main centric business perspective.
  • Change Requests and Bugs: I had to manage multiple change requests and bugs independently, without a consolidated understanding of the overall business logic..

How Issues Were Tackled (Strategy)

  • Building Strong Communication: I established strong communication with the business analyst to gain a thorough understanding of the business domain.
  • Understanding Business Logic Flow: Initially, I dedicated separate time to grasp the business logic flow within the code.
  • Creating Documentation: I created detailed documents to clarify various perspectives and shared them with clients and business analysts to ensure clear and precise viewpoints regarding their requirements.

Key Learnings:

  • Azure VMs: Gained proficiency in managing and deploying Azure Virtual Machines.
  • Azure Web Apps: Developed skills in deploying and managing Azure Web Applications.
  • Azure SQL DB Backups: Learned to perform and manage backups for Azure SQL Databases.
  • Identity Server 4: Acquired knowledge in implementing Identity Server 4 for authentication and authorization.

?

Conclusion:

Working on the Pioneer Water Tank (PWT) project was a significant learning experience. Despite the challenges of understanding diverse business domains and handling numerous change requests independently, I developed a strong grasp of the business logic through effective communication and documentation. This project not only enhanced my technical skills in Azure VMs, Web Apps, SQL DB backups, and Identity Server 4 but also improved my ability to manage complex business-oriented applications efficiently.
