NavalX Connecx—Trusting Till It Hurts with James "Hondo" Geurts
Today on the NavalX Connecx Podcast, our hosts Rodney Flowers, Brad Goodrich, and Liz Mildenstein have the privilege of interviewing one of the original creators and champions of NavalX, former Undersecretary of the Navy James “Hondo '' Geurts.
Mr. Geurts has over 30 years of joint acquisition experience in the military and government and recently retired from government service in August of 2021. Today, he is the Executive Vice Chairman for Sarcos Technology and Robotics Corporation among other organizations. He joins our hosts to reflect on his wide-ranging career and his time standing NavalX up and propelling the organization forward. Mr. Geurts bestows wisdom and shares success stories and teachable moments on this episode from how to proactively foster diversity and to trust your team completely.?
He explains during the interview, “I used to say trust until it hurts, right? If you only trust when it doesn't hurt, you'll only generally trust people you know really well who look like you or something else.”
He hopes to inspire a new generation of individuals to keep the momentum going at NavalX. Join us today on the NavalX Connecx podcast for another thought-provoking, leadership-focused episode.
