The NAV Developer is a key role supporting and managing the continuous improvement of the ERP system, providing technical expertise to interpret business requirements and develop into appropriate and robust final solutions for users to test prior to implementation.
The day to day duties of the role will include:
- Working closely with teams to develop new or enhance current functionality based on business requirements and specifications
- Providing support and code fixes of core NAV configuration and third-party customisations
- Applying functional application and data upgrades
- Understanding and providing guidance on the implications of proposed changes
- Providing expertise and guidance to assist in training and building the in-house NAV support and development function
- Providing guidance on best practice
- Supporting with testing to ensure developments are fit for purpose, and developed to industry best practice
- Providing guidance on developing reports to our Data Analyst as required
- Ensuring that developments are coded concisely, logically and efficiently, fully documenting and commenting
- Proactively identifying and flagging potential issues or opportunities
To be successful in the role, you will need to have:
- In depth knowledge of Dynamics NAV functionality and technical processes
- Thorough understanding of the Dynamics NAV software architecture and the Client / Server Integrated Development Environment
- Experience as a software developer specifically working with NAV C/SIDE C/AL development language
- Experience of working within retail, ideally within the fashion / apparel sector
- Strong communication skills at all levels
- An ability to interpret business requirements and translate into concise, logical code, constructively challenging the internal customer where appropriate
- Experience of integrating NAV with an EPOS Solution.
