Every incident in our life has been designed by the intelligence and love of Nature. They are called two heart beats of humanity??????? -Dr Sri Ram Gajula
Life is a magnificent interplay of patterns, cycles, and principles that govern everything we see, touch, and feel. This underlying rhythm—known as the Nature of Nature—is about understanding the external world and recognizing how it reflects within us. Understanding this fundamental truth unlocks the keys to harmony, happiness, and peace.
Various authors across the world have dealt with this subject of Nature or Mother Nature but in isolated and fragmented ways. No book talks about the immensity of nature as a whole: life, the Universe, Science, Spirituality, etc.
It is unfathomable for any finite being to understand all the intricacies of the flow of life, or the science in it: the way that nature works, the way she was born, the way she creates, nurtures and destroys. This is the cycle of life, and its scope is vast.
If there is any journey worth taking for anyone is escape into the illimitable love and infinite intelligence that is part of mother nature, that gave birth to mother nature.
When we do not understand Nature’s Nature and Nature’s Laws our lives fill with tremendous chaos, sorrow and loneliness. Conversely, learning, understanding and applying Nature’s laws give us hope and fearlessness and enable Mother Nature to flourish better. Nature knows who and what to give us, to take care of us. Nature provides. Nature can create and kill, and bring alive, too provided there is a role to fulfil. In Nature everything is miraculous.
Nature has created one million things to provide everything that we need and everything needed for all life. See the magic in nature
Fall in love with nature, whose nature is to provide bountiful things and to love us so incredibly, who is so intelligent to create the things needed by the Universe, without wasted energy, and with perfect recycling. Human Life is a minuscule part of Nature.
The Nature of Nature: The Eternal Teacher
Nature operates on universal laws that remain constant despite external changes. These principles—balance, resilience, interdependence, and impermanence—are not abstract; they manifest in our daily lives.
In one of his talks, Sri Ram Sir illustrated this with a simple yet profound example: “Look at a seed. It carries the potential to become a vast tree, providing shade, shelter, and sustenance. But the seed doesn’t resist its transformation—it breaks itself open, embracing the change necessary to fulfil its purpose. Why, then, do we fear change when it is the essence of growth?"
This analogy reminds us that surrendering to life’s natural flow allows us to grow into our highest potential.
Night that we experience creates the morning that you are now experiencing. When you understand Nature of Nature, you also understand human nature because you are part of it.
Practical clarity and Practical wisdom is necessary to do anything with precision. We try to find ways to escape and prove that we are wise enough to decipher things this is the difficulty with practical clarity. This is so because we are biologically controlled being hardwired in that manner.
Arjuna who listened to the entire song celestial from Sri Krishna on the battle field of Kurukshetra and later he could not recall the whole teaching. The truth is anything that happens in Nature is final. There cannot be any further improvement. That is the final judgement. like supreme court judgement. Arjuna is also biologically controlled being. The genes control, almost like remote control, overcoming gravitational pull of genes is very difficult area.
We also entertain many illusions. Some are removable and few are irreplaceable. Right from childhood we are exposed to certain things very difficult to remove. Sometimes we cannot remove them.? We dwell on our own experiences, read books, attend few lectures. We think, on the basis of all this that our conclusion must be correct. This requires subjective experience. Subjectivity is necessary to understand objective principles.
Sri Ramakrishna Paramahamsa said, “You should bring spirituality down from mountain to marketplace”. It is not enough? to sit in Himalayan caves and talk to god.? Can you come down to the market place and live happily and peacefully.
In Bhagavad Gita, there is definition of wise man (jnani) who has spiritual awareness. Sri Krishna has used the words: Satata Santoshi- the person who is perennially happy. Practically you have to apply these principles in structuring your life.
To be able to read a paragraph, we have to first learn the alphabets. Similarly, there are fundamentals of human existence; fundamentals of nature; fundamentals of God and spirituality. Science and spirituality are one and same. As few are unaware about the relationship in two branches of thought, we ourselves create web of confusions.
At every step in this dualistic existence, there will be illusions. There is always a gap between expectation of reality and experience of reality. But why this gap exists? How to bridge this gap? Is there a scientific approach? A logical and rational approach? In depth scientific awareness can bridge this gap.
We have natural laws. No matter which airline you travel with, be it the emirates or the British airways, we do not doubt whether aircraft will be able to take off or not. This is so because it works as per law of aerodynamics. Only scientific principles work. If you boil water to 100-degree Celsius, it turns into vapour. We do not doubt such a thing because there is law behind it. Similarly, there are laws in our life. Unalterable laws -laws that are universally valid.

Why Understanding Nature Matters
1.?? Reconnects Us with the Bigger Picture Sri Ram Sir often spoke about how humanity has distanced itself from nature’s rhythms. He explained: "When we forget nature, we forget ourselves. Observing a sunrise or listening to the rustling leaves brings us back to the reality that we are part of a greater whole."
The Bhagavad Gita also echoes this sentiment:“Prakritim swam??avashtabhya visrijami punah punah”(Bhagavad Gita 9.8) -“I create again and again, by my own nature.” This verse highlights the cyclical and eternal nature of creation, reminding us of our connection to this universal process.
2.?? Teaches Adaptability and Resilience Sri Ram Sir shared another story in his teachings: "A river never stops flowing. It navigates around obstacles, sometimes carving through mountains and sometimes flowing gently. It teaches us that life’s challenges are not roadblocks but pathways to discovering new directions."
Similarly, nature’s adaptability inspires us to embrace change, knowing that resilience lies in moving forward, no matter the circumstances.
3.?? Brings Inner Peace Sri Ram Sir often emphasized the calming influence of nature: “When the mind is restless, observe a tree. Notice its stillness even amidst strong winds. It doesn’t resist; it simply sways and stands firm. This is the wisdom we must internalize—to stay grounded yet flexible."
The Vashistha Gita beautifully encapsulates this wisdom: “Jagat sarvam atmano bhati” “The entire universe is but a reflection of the Self.” When we observe nature, we also observe ourselves, finding the peace and clarity we seek within.
Practical Applications: Living Nature’s Wisdom
Sri Ram Sir believed that understanding nature’s principles is incomplete without practicing them in daily life. Here are actionable steps inspired by his teachings:
1.?? Embrace Cycles: Recognize the cycles in your own life—moments of growth, rest, and renewal. Reflect on how these patterns align with nature’s rhythms, such as the changing seasons.
2.?? Find Strength in Flexibility: Just as a bamboo bends in the wind but doesn’t break, learn to adapt to life’s challenges without losing your core values.
3.?? Cultivate Gratitude: Sri Ram Sir often suggested spending time in nature, saying, "When you see the vast sky or hear the sound of rain, feel gratitude for being part of this divine orchestra." Make gratitude a daily practice to cultivate inner peace.
4.?? Practice Presence: Take a moment to simply observe—a bird in flight, waves lapping at the shore, or the stillness of a mountain. Nature’s presence teaches us mindfulness and helps us center ourselves.
A Journey Toward Harmony
In one of his talks, Sri Ram Sir concluded with these profound words: "Nature doesn’t hurry, yet everything is accomplished. When we align with its wisdom, we too can achieve without struggle, live without conflict, and thrive in harmony."
The Ramayana also reminds us of this universal truth: “Dharmo rakshati rakshitah” “Dharma protects those who protect it.” By living in harmony with nature’s principles, we protect not only our environment but also the peace and happiness within us.
Again, closing this article with few of the anecdotes from Dr. Sri Ram Gajula. “Smile as much possible. Smile is the most potent antibiotic for all the diseases of life. Be fearless. Fearlessness does not mean carelessness. Take all possible care and leave the rest to nature. Leave the rest to God. Only the rest.
This series aims to uncover such timeless lessons and guide us toward a life of purpose and fulfilment. Stay tuned for the next article, "The Mirror of Human Nature," where we’ll explore how nature’s principles reflect in our own behaviour and relationships.
Let’s embark on this journey together, inspired by the wisdom of the natural world and the profound teachings of Sri Ram Sir.
