The nature of Nature

Over 16 years, I’ve been incredibly fortunate to see Nature evolve from a single IKEA Flarke desk in my Richmond flat to an award-winning agency operating across Melbourne, Sydney and New Zealand. That’s no accident, and it’s certainly not something I can take credit for alone.

Thing is, the nature of Nature lies in all of our people, and how we all stay true to the start-up values we were born with. Start-up values matter. They allow our people to feel like just that: people.

We work tirelessly to give everyone at Nature personal ownership of our purpose and vision, so they don't feel like cogs in a machine. We encourage our people to think critically and voice ideas freely, as well as providing the best, most supportive environment for them to learn, grow and thrive. It is critical to evolving a way of working with clients and data that revolves around one thing: being human.?

The nature of Nature is to put people at the heart of everything we do –?from our own people to the people we aim to understand. It just makes sense. We maintain our start-up values to work with every client as though they are our first, never bringing a cookie-cutter solution to the table.

So what are those start-up values? Here’s exactly what’s in our nature:

1.????Encouraging an owner mindset in our team

2.????Being absolutely committed to the individual growth and development of each of our people

3.????Ensuring a collegial and collaborative way to work

4.????Providing a safe, inclusive space bringing one’s full self to work

5.????Adopting a caring mindset, which we express toward both each other and the community around us

Over the next few weeks some of our key people across the agency will help explain how each of these make Nature what it is and offer some examples of how we’ve managed to implement this people-first mindset into our business. Hopefully you find something that’s useful for your own.
