aloe vera for sunburn

  • Sunburn is one of the most common summer skin problems.
  • Aloe Vera is the most famous sunburn soother. It cools and moisturizes the skin. It decreases redness and speeds up the burnt skin's recovery.
  • Another option for sunburn relief is a cold compress. You can simply use cool water or use a mixture of milk and water to reduce redness and calm the skin.
  • When your skin is burnt it is best to avoid harsh or pungent soaps, they may cause skin to be more irritated and tender.
Baking soda for prickly heat

Prickly Heat

  • Itchy skin caused by hot weather can be soothed by adding baking soda to a lukewarm bath. Baking soda contains sodium bicarbonate which calms inflammation. Adding 40-50 ml of baking soda to a bath can help reduce discomfort.      

 Dehydration

 Dehydration may not be considered as one of the summer skin problems, but it's for a fact that to have healthy glowing skin, one must keep oneself hydrated.

 Water is the best way to prevent dehydration, and it is essential to drink plenty of water if you are dehydrated. Here are some other tips and remedies for dehydration:

  • Watery fruits and vegetables, like strawberries, melons, cucumber, and tomatoes, are good foods to eat if you are dehydrated.
  • Fresh coconut water helps balance electrolytes by giving your body potassium and iron, which helps soothe dehydration.
  • An epsom salt bath is a great home remedy for the symptoms of dehydration. Because of the magnesium in the salts, it combats fatigue and muscle aches. 

Insect Bites

To soothe an insect or mosquito bite here are a couple of quick remedies to apply to the affected area:

  • A slice of lemon or a banana peel
  • A mixture of baking soda and water
  • Apple cider vinegar
  • Or a mixture of water and tea tree and lavender essential oil dabbed onto the skin with a cotton ball
