Help for MS: On my research as a nutritionist, I believe the single most important supplement (besides making sure your vitamin D level is between 50-80ng/ml), and the ONLY one I've seen that actually helps the brain repair and produce more myelin, is coffee fruit extract (not to be confused with coffee bean extract). Aim for 200mg once a day for 4 months, and then drop down to 100mg once a day for maintenance. You can get this on any of the major online shopping sites that sell supplements. Oh, and do you know what else helps repair & regenerate myelin? EXERCISE!!! I recommend some type of strenuous aerobic exercise (the best kind is the kind you'll actually do!) for 45 minutes a day, 6 days a week. Of course build up slowly if your body can handle that much at first. There are also plenty of other supplements that have been shown to help MS in a more indirect way, and it depends on your symptoms and other health conditions to determine which ones may be right for you. And back to Vitamin D. The BEST way is to get SUN!!! Build up slowly to 30 minutes each day of direct sunlight. As far as taking Vitamin D, the amount you need will depend on how low your levels are (most times I suggest 5000IU/day to get your levels up- unless you're extremely low, and then it's 10,000IU/day), and then for maintenance (once your levels are in optimal range), I suggest 2000IU/day.
