Natural all-season garden for SiCrystal

In cooperation with the bird protection association Landesbund für Vogelschutz (LBV), a year-round garden with a flowering area has been created on the premises of SiCrystal in Nuremberg's Nordostpark. In the future, insects, hedgehogs and various bird species will find a home here.

For SiCrystal, the issues of sustainability and social responsibility are already fundamentally anchored in its corporate policy. With their silicon carbide wafers, they make a decisive contribution to reducing energy consumption as well as CO2 emissions, thus helping to counteract global warming. Recently, however, the company has also taken action on its own premises and given more space to the protection of species and nature.

On the occasion of the company's 25th anniversary, an anniversary tree was planted and, thanks to the energetic work of SiCrystal employees, supported professionally and practically by full-time and voluntary workers from the LBV district office in Central Franconia, a lawn with trees was transformed into a near-natural year-round garden with a flowering area made from regional seeds. In addition to the flowering area, an insect hotel, a shelter for hedgehogs and numerous nesting opportunities for various bird species have been created. Another plus point is that the redesign has also made it easier for employees to experience nature on site during breaks and created a place for observing nature.
