Natron: Creating Edge Mattes
This article discusses how I created low-level use of an edge matte by subtracting merge node blend mode and a blur node to blur alpha channel with itself to fake a light wrap effect. The process is in backdrop nodes to help you follow the process. Once the edge matte is created, you then use it as a mask to cut out a silhouette of the background image to overlay the foreground image.
