National Women’s History - Happening Now!

iSeek Solutions celebrates and recognizes March - National Women’s History Month - as well as leading women of the future. Literally, millions of people are currently watching as the confirmation hearings for Supreme Court Nominee, Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson, are in process before the Senate Judiciary Committee. We celebrate Judge Jackson who has already made history as the first African-American woman to be nominated to the United States Supreme Court. This high-ranking court plays a significant role in America’s justice system – disputes between states, the federal government, etc. If confirmed, Judge Brown will become the nation’s first Black woman Supreme Court Justice and would be the first former Public Defender to serve on the country’s highest Court.

Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson born September 14, 1970, in Washington D.C. and raised in Miami, Florida, is currently an attorney and jurist serving as a federal judge on the United States Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit since 2021. A star student, Judge Jackson studied at Harvard for both her undergraduate and graduate degrees earning her law degree (cum laude) from Harvard Law School in 1996.

On February 25, 2022, the White House announced that President Joe Biden selected Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson as his nominee for the United States Supreme Court seat being vacated by the retirement of Justice Stephen Breyer. During her opening statement on day one of her confirmation hearing Judge Jackson thanked Justice Breyer, who also served as a mentor to her.

If confirmed, Judge Jackson would become the 116th Associate Justice of the United States Supreme Court - four out of the nine (44%) members of that court would be women.
