Mark your calendars and plan to participate in the 3rd Annual National Stand-Down to Prevent Struck-by Incidents! From April 11 – 15, 2022,?this stand-down is taking place to increase awareness of struck-by hazards and encourage preventative measures to reduce these types of incidents at the worksite.?

Struck-by hazards are part of OSHA’s Focus Four, which identifies the four leading causes of fatalities in the construction industry. Struck-by injuries are caused by forcible contact or impact between an injured person and an object or piece of equipment.

Workers Are Most Often Struck By:

  • Heavy equipment and vehicles, including trucks, skid steers, and cranes.
  • Falling or flying objects, such as tools and flying particles.
  • Concrete or masonry walls that are being constructed.
