Thank you to our nation’s 28 million small business owners. You are the lifeblood of our great American economy and it's truly an honor to work with and support you.
As we celebrate National Small Business Week, I am reminded on how little the average person understands your impact on their day-to-day lives. In my conversations with these folks, I make a point to ask the question:
"How many American businesses are small business?"
Universally the answer is about 50%, however; when I inform them that a whopping 99.7% of all American businesses are small businesses and 57 million Americans work for small businesses – nearly half of all private-sector jobs in the United States, they are shocked. In response, they tend to gain a greater understanding and appreciation of your impact on our day to day lives.
