National School Counseling Week

At West-MEC, we understand the vital role of school counselors in students' lives. Counselors help students with many things, such as helping students develop socially, helping students prepare for their future, assisting instructors in understanding their students better, and, among many other things, just being there for students in a time of need.

West-MEC campus counselors are a crucial part of what makes West-MEC a fantastic environment for students to learn. All of West-MEC's partner high school counselors also play a critical role by promoting West-MEC and presenting their students with the option to come here. Without our partner counselors, West-MEC wouldn't be what it is today.

West-MEC's campus counselors are all incredible and help our students grow as students and people every day. One example of West-MEC's extraordinary counselors is Northwest Campus Counselor Kristina Guy. Guy won the?2023 Association for Career and Technical Education's Counseling and Career Development Award.?

Sometimes, a school counselor can fly under the radar. People often think of administrators and instructors first for what makes a great school. While those positions are extremely vital, so are school counselors, and they deserve recognition for their hard work, especially during National School Counseling Week!
