National Police Week

Should you ever have the opportunity to travel to Washington DC, be sure to make time to visit the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial.

Bronze lion guardians stand at each entrance to the memorial and watch over the names of the fallen and this hallowed resting place.

This memorial pays tribute and gives honor to our fathers, mothers, uncles, aunts, brothers, and sisters who made the ultimate sacrifice while in the line of duty.

The protective service role that you accomplish on a daily basis to your community is symbolized by the lioness watching over her resting cubs.

One guardian lion is a reminder of the bold righteousness that is necessary to serve the community and to restrain the evil.

Together, the bronze guardians symbolize the protective role of law enforcement officers and convey the strength, courage and valor that are hallmarks of those who serve and protect.

So, during this National Police week, take a moment to reflect, honor and give thanks for those that lived a life of service and made the ultimate sacrifice. Do not let the lessons that they shared or their names be forgotten!

Stand ready and be the one that brings the others back!
