National Nurses Week 2022: Banyan Celebrates Nursing Staff and their Efforts in Building the Workforce of the Future
Banyan is proud to acknowledge Nurse Appreciation Week, May 6-12! First celebrated and established in 1994 by the American Nursing Association (ANA), Nurse Appreciation Week applauds the lifesaving efforts that take place day after day to keep patients safe. Banyan is thrilled to spend this week celebrating the journey of our nursing staff, and we recognize their outstanding efforts, especially in trying times.?
Here at Banyan, our nurses are unique in the fact that they don’t help patients just at one hospital, one facility, or in one unit. They help save lives across the country, and from coast to coast, our virtual nurses are required to be always on, ready to assist 24/7/365. From admission to discharge and even beyond, our nurses have been called upon in unique and challenging circumstances the past few years. In times of greatest need, the healthcare industry has had to adapt and find new ways to improve the delivery of care. Healthcare facilities have been tested in having to improve safety efforts to keep bedside nurses and patients at minimal risk of infectious disease. We are proud to serve as such a critical role in these efforts and now, this is just the beginning. Through technology and staffing, Banyan’s virtual nurses have been implemented to deliver care to patients around the country and with their assistance, patients now receive 2 RNs – one at bedside and one virtually. The tasks of our staff include:?

With a fleet of staff support and continuous coverage, our nurses not only save the lives of patients but impact the safety of the bedside nurses as well. We recognize our own staff and use this week as an opportunity to celebrate the collaborative efforts of our trusted partners in sharing one mission – patient safety. With the birth of Florence Nightingale serving as the finale of this special week, we should all reflect on the progression of the nursing occupation itself.?
Nightingale was the original innovator, theorist, and disruptor of nursing. Her message was simple, to continue to progress the delivery of care and ensuring the safety of the ill. She once said, “Nursing is a progressive art such that to stand still is to go backward.” Now, the healthcare industry is at a pivotal point in time, where advanced technologies and experienced nurses are implementing new ways to enhance care – just as Nightingale would hope for. Banyan is at the forefront of this movement, and all is possible with the touch of our nurses and the alliance of our bedside teams. Our virtual nurses improve the patient’s experience like never before. Accessible support anywhere at any time, we are proud of our staff, and those that we are partnered with. For the future of healthcare is now, and together, we are successfully transforming healthcare.?
