It’s November 2022, which means it's National Gratitude Month.
A year ago, I was on vacation with my family in Maui, HI. It was a trip long in the making, celebrating my husband’s and my 15th wedding anniversary, the first time we’d been to Hawaii since our honeymoon. It was also our son’s first time visiting this magical state, and for the three of us, it was the first real vacation we’d had since the beginning of COVID.?
I was so incredibly grateful for the opportunity to share this experience with them. I was also just a few weeks into my Coach Certification program and terrified. Everything felt difficult and scary. Like I’d never find enough clients, and even if I did, what value would I actually be able to provide? I was questioning just about everything when it came to my career transition.
And now, 365 days later, what I’m grateful for has changed dramatically.
Yes, I’m still grateful for that unbelievable trip to Hawaii! A chance to connect with my husband and son, enjoy nature, the culture, and even some pampering.
And specifically, looking back on how I was feeling about coaching, everything I’m grateful for today boils down to a deeper belief in myself. I’ve been able to have conversations with that saboteur in my head, the one who told me it would be easier to take a different route. And as I continued learning more tools, gaining new clients, and allowing my leader within to take hold, my belief in myself soared. And what I’ve observed is that I actually am able to make a difference.
Another thing I’m grateful for? All of you! My family, friends, colleagues, and in particular, my resilient, strong, courageous clients. Watching each of them take steps both big and small outside their comfort zones is the most inspiring part of what I do. They honestly make me want to get better and better, and they're the reason why I continue to challenge myself to play big each and every day.?

And even though some days are easier than others to feel and act this way, they keep me honest. I will be forever grateful for what they've given me… so thank you.
What are you grateful for during this month of gratitude?
