National - Get to know your customers day - 2022.
So, today is January 21st, 2022 and it is, 'national get to know your customers day'... Knowing the people you're working with is incredibly important in any business sector you may be in. But, knowing someone and how their organisation works, in the marketing/social media world, is doubly important.
Knowing your customers' 'voice', how their organisation communicates with the world, is so important - Why? Well, any content you put out into the public domain, needs to be from your customer's point of view, their voice - Not your own. This way, anything that goes out, will appear with authority, the authority of that organisation and their core messaging.
Knowing your clients.
I'm incredibly lucky when it comes to knowing who my clients are and how their organisation works... Because a number of my clients are former employers of mine! So, it naturally means, I know how that business works and thinks.
From working at the Royal Yacht Squadron as a boatman for 9 years; to working in the factory and servicing departments at SeaSafe Systems for several years - Both roles have allowed me a unique insight into how the two, very different organisations work.
Knowing the people and the industry in which you are serving, allows you to connect with their core ethos, their way of working and specifics that others might not know or understand. Every business is different, we all act and do different things and knowing those quirks from business to business helps me to ensure the best possible service for my clients.

The goal.
The ultimate goal with getting to know your clients is of course being able to produce accurate and relevant content, that is sector and business-specific while building trust that, hopefully, leads to a long and fruitful working relationship with your clients. Trust is key!
It is human nature to work with whom you trust, the people you know… So, building trust is vital when it comes to retaining your clients. Therefore, knowing them, and they knowing you, is pretty important!
