National Donut Day increasingly special for Magic Ring Donut-maker Baker Boy
National Donut Day has always been a fun day at Baker Boy. But over the past three years, it has truly become a special day.
An investment of more than $12 million into modernizing our donut line – which includes injection, topping and packaging technology – has allowed us to make giant leaps forward in the donut marketplace.
Baker Boy now offers more than 50 different donuts and donut doughs that service a multitude of customers – from convenience stores to supermarkets, independent donut shops, and even K-12 schools, universities and restaurants.
Our innovative Magic Ring? Filled Donuts are part of this innovation. In 2018, Baker Boy became the first North American bakery manufacturer to offer filled ring donuts. We now offer 7 flavors – including the new Lemon filled introduced just this week, the dual-injected Strawberry Cream Cheese and Chocolate & Bavarian Crème and even an Apple-filled ring donut made with whole grain for school foodservice programs.
But we’re not done yet. In the wake of COVID-19, we have recognized the importance of touchpoint-free menu options for foodservice. Our research-and-development team is focused on improving our line of The Donut Hole? brand Thaw & Serve Fully Finished donuts and are intensely working on ideas that could eliminate consumer touchpoints at the store level.
Today, we celebrate the strides we’ve made in the donut marketplace. But we’re also looking forward – because the bet is yet to come.
