National Director for Learning Disability and Autism visits Specialist services
Midlands Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust
A fantastic place to work
The Trust was really pleased to welcome Tom Cahill, National Director for Learning Disability (LD) and Autism at NHS England to learn more about the work of our specialist LD services.
Following an introduction at Trust HQ on the St George’s Hospital site in Stafford led by Chief Executive Neil Carr, Mr Cahill met with community LD teams before receiving a tour of Ellesmere House, MPFT’s low-secure inpatient ward for adult males with a learning disability.
Commenting on the visit, Simon Lloyd, Director of Operations & Associate Chief Nurse, Specialist Care Group said: “We were honoured to receive what was a really valuable and constructive visit from Tom Cahill to discuss the innovative and dedicated work of our learning disability teams to support patients and service users.
“Visits such as this help to showcase why MPFT is a fantastic place to work and how, together we are making life better for our communities.”
