National Defence university-A new horizon?

National Defence university-A new horizon?

?????????

?Thanks to the Kargil war?sins by the Pakistan forces, the urgency and the funds made to the defence . The third largest standing Army of the world after China and the USA, Indian Army (IA) inducts about 70,000 Personnel-Below-Officers Rank (PBOR) and 1,000 Officers, every year, to maintain its operational effectiveness By the sense I feel Dr A P J Abdul Kalam in?a mission to build fly-by-wire flight Control Laws?for the Light Combat Aircraft (Tejas). The recent induction of Raffale and the missiles from Brahmos to Agni-VI provides trust to emerge as one of the most powerful nation.

  • It was more than 20 years ago when Kalam took the decision to form the national CLAW team where the Scientists and Engineers mainly chosen from the Aeronautical Development Agency (ADA), Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd (HAL) and National Aerospace Laboratories (NAL).The Indian government Thursday approved the setting up of a highly specialized Indian National Defense University at an estimated cost of 2.95 billion rupees in the northern state of Haryana.
  • Kudos to the clearance of the?purchase of new arms and equipment including 12 helicopters and Lynx U2 naval gunfire control system?at a meeting of the Defence Acquisition Council. Thanks to?the?manufacturing upgraded super rapid gun mount (SRGM) by BHEL .HAL, DRDO,ordnance factories need to strengthen the manufacture of arms ,helicopters and modernizes guns locally in our country. We save billion dollars of money. In addition to the ongoing projects and privatization Govt needs to think of involving Indian companies in sourcing the projects.
  • There is a string urgency for the naval commands to increase the manpower with sophisticated ships at the Western Command, Eastern Command, Northern Command, Southern Command, South Western Command, Training Command, Central Command. It is shocking to hear the news that in defence and in home few acts as spyagents .Govt need to take tough measures on them and the recruitment policy for the defence, home ministry staff needs to be reviewed strictly. Defence cum Home recruitment policy needs to be framed with detailed analaysis of the candidate with lot of psychometric series test and pshychoanlaysis test.
  • The Government of India has given licenses to the private corporate like M&M,L&T and other firms to invest in defense sector. A pact have to be signed with the above companies and the defense organizations for boosting the defence curriculum. Students should be given training to?know-how of short range missiles and to defend the?nation. DRDO ,HAL,ADA,ISRO,BRAHMOS aerospace and Intelligence bureaus have to tie with the technology institutions in imparting niche areas in high end research. Remote sensing ,navigation systems should cooperate in prediction and forecasting the weather datas.
  • ?The Government of India should select institutions in each state to invest money in defence sector. It is high time to save the nation by imbibing the defence studies investment. The Center investigates the implications of technological innovation on national security policy and military plans which work closely with the science and technology community and take on projects that bridge the gap between technology and policy. It combines scientific and technical assessments with analyses of current strategic and defense policy issues, taking on topics to bridge the gap.?The Transforming National Security was sponsored by the Office of?Defense for Policy as a key element of inter agency education. Studies on Cyber electronic Warfare, electronic defense systems for ground, maritime, surface, airborne systems ,algorithm for radar systems, missile defense radar is vital. Even we have Defence institutes of advanced technology ,the necessity of a National defence University is quite significant urgency in the regional levels.
  • ?As the cross border terrorism which compels the nation to safeguard it in terms of territorial defence forces ,the national defence university formation is a quirky tool.The?anti-ballistic missile defence programme, meant to defend the country from enemy ballistic missiles, is ahead of China's. The?test of the 3500-km range Agni-3 would clear the decks for the induction of the missile into the services. ?The two sources of security threats to India’s stability are gravely impinging on her internal law and order situation. Manifestations of threat range from communal/sectarian violence to Jihad terrorism, separatist insurgencies in northeast and Naxalite extremist militancy.
  • No nation can be secured unless its internal security is also ensured. A nation in chaos cannot be secured from external threats, and destabilizing such a country through internal imbalances is more economical and less objectionable. Internal strife and disorder can damage national interests, endanger the lives of citizens, lead to breakdown of law and order, make enforcement of laws difficult & the country more vulnerable to external threats. In such a state, society cannot progress smoothly nor can citizens feel secured. Community oriented Police should be encouraged. Service conditions of constables and lower ranking officials should be improved so as to assure them economic and social stability, & arouse their passion towards the Police and the country. The proposed measures by the Central Government should be implemented as soon as possible, such as Crime and Criminal Tracking Network System (CCTNS) to facilitate the collection, storage, retrieval, analysis, transfer and sharing of data among police stations; National Database Grid (NAT GRID) to network 21 sets of databases to achieve quick, seamless and secured access to desired information; and establishment of Unified National Counter Terrorism Center (NCTC).
  • For the storage, retrieval, analysis, transfer and sharing of data where large number of signal processing engineers is vital for implementation of the grid. The delay in implementing the NAT-GRID in 2012 is the shortage of manpower?and the trained personnel who gives training is less.
  • The national defence university on the lines of better than the National Defense University USA at the regional centres on the defence corridor may moot the core research dynamics in all pertained to defence and allied services. The allocation of the defence budgets needs to be of more so that sufficient funds diverted to development research consortium of warfare and constructive applications in medical and agriculture.

Two VLSI engineers from Defence Institute of Advanced Technology (DIAT), DU, DRDO (M.Tech) reported to me, and they have proven to be excellent candidates. Initiatives like this should be implemented in other regions by the government to make education more affordable and foster research potential.

Nice initiative by Govt. Hope it may protect our country from external and internal crimes.

Good idea. Its sounds similar to Make in India initiative. Research and development never go wasted.

Hmm, even in US they have defence projects run in public/pvt universities, just like scram jet project goes on at IIT-M. Then there are defence labs (Lawrence Livermore, Sandia etc) like DRDO labs. Am not sure about the quality that can be achieved with a National Defence University...
