National Day of Truth & Reconciliation

National Day of Truth & Reconciliation

Sept. 30th is National Day for #TruthandReconciliation, a holiday here in Canada to serve as a reminder to reflect and educate ourselves on the injustices faced by Indigenous people.

Everyone is encouraged to wear orange to honour the lost children and survivors of residential schools and/or take action in some way towards reconciliation.

I am updating World Event Center's land acknowledgement, and have been researching the history I was not taught in school. Also researching and sharing what I've found on my blog (https://www.SueSutcliffe.com/truth-and-reconciliation) including 150 ways we can move toward reconciliation.

If you are taking action on even one thing or you'd like to share a resource or something you've learned, please do click on the link and add to comments to inspire others.

Remember the wise words of George Santayana...

"Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it"
