A network and natter, Dr Tracey Worth caught up with DVSA Lindsey Cracknel and expert sector lawyer Melanie Stancliffe to talk driver worker status and compliance.
A full house, standing room only and web impact off the scale as social media exploded with the story of everyday heroes who had delivered for our sector and our clients. It was a historic turnout, with largest mix of express companies ever. Twenty-five individual winners, from two-wheel to office.
The coveted Step Change category win went to Police National Business Crime team for evolution of Code 42, mail and parcel theft codes focused on incidents at vehicle. DFE & IFA on stage to celebrate logistics apprentice winner. Traffic Commissioner Sarah Bell with DfT & DVSA to celebrate David Jamieson Road Safety win for Whistl. Lyndsey Cracknell in the room from DEFRA to celebrate Eco- Decarbonisation double with wins for TfL and HBC Logistics Ltd . Collaboration wins for DPD UK Guide Dog initiative and Viking UK DX Group pairing. A second Team award for 联邦快递 Basildon Essex Fire support.

It was a Gala celebration to remember from start to finish.? Nicolette Chin playing harp at the stairway entry, Jen the Roo Agency sorted stilt walkers, and a light show of hoops from Harley, lighting the way for the individual stage awards.? Individual shortlisters walked tall and proud into the magnificent City of London livery hall with their golden award plaques as fellows, guests and colleagues brought down the roof with a crescendo of rattles from clapper hands of the Inst of Couriers. Outside the room the social media went crazy. Our sector in the spotlight of success. Shortlisters on the edge of their seats. Dr Tracey Worth explained: winners of the independent, unsponsored awards of the Institute of Couriers are the best-kept secret in our sector, the winners only finding out as they are called to the stage. National Courier Awards was the largest mix of companies ever
SMEs, Regional’s and National brands at the same tables. DfT, DFE, DEFRA, DVSA all in the room. 'Lights camera action' for the gala evening celebration of the 28th National Courier Awards hosted by the Institute of Couriers. A full house, near 300 guests, standing room only and many were standing for standing ovations, as they rattled their clappers. IOC delivered the Curly Wurlys to a post code index of tables for a gala dinner followed by stilt walkers and light dancing; setting the tone of celebration for what has become a unique approach to recognising the best of the best in final mile. Tweets by the bucketload, photos live on the web as Carl Lomas MBE and Dr Tracey Worth read narratives to bring a tear to the eye from the winning reports of 2024. Handing out the wins, IOC President, former Sec of State for Transport, Lord Patrick McLoughlin and Vice President, former transport minister, Sir John Hayes CBE.
Standing ovation for Services to Industry 2024 goes to IOC Fellow Simi Punn , TVS Supply Chain Solutions Courier Division.
The National Courier Awards Services to Industry award is rare, only 11 in 30 years and now two are female. It's one of the best kept secrets in the sector of final mile. The recipient is never told that they are shortlisted. Life Services closed the evening at the 2024 National Courier Awards with a standing ovation as the nomination was read.

2024 Life Services award by the IOC went to TVS Supply Chain Solutions UK boss Simi Punn , tears in her eyes, clappers rattled the roof of the City of London Livery Hall for the 2024 National Courier Awards. A student lawyer who came to our sector on a temporary role, stayed and rose to the top of her UK brand, delivered equality and opportunity to the whole team around her on her journey of success in final mile. Fellow Life Service recipients present came to stage to welcome her - Founding Fellow Jeffrey Ritterband FFIoC , Kate Lester and Justin Moore .

First award went to next generation, education VIPS on stage, University of West London VC Peter John & West Thames College FE Principal Tracy Aust with DFE, Inst of Apprenticeship Nick Mawhinney to award the next generation, Aaron Bennett, dnata logistics, Heathrow.
Two wheel winners at our front line, motorcycle couriers Michael Barrett, EAV at Santis Global , Michael Mclegend & Robert Skinn from Addison Lee and Alex Praxedes GLH took wins.
Van winners included Kenny Bevis, Brian Garland TVS SCS Global Freight Solutions Limited , Erol Hamilton DB Couriers Manchester, Mihal Mihaylov Route 1 express couriers , Dilman Reza Whistl UK Ltd and Tracey Walmsley Evri Delivery .
Four contract winners working direct with the client showcased Leonel Fernandes Diamond Logistics Ltd , Ian Robertson THE COURIER COMPANY NATIONWIDE LIMITED , Steve Seagar ASAP Express Ltd and Michael Wanczarskyl Viking UK .
