National Coming Out Day at CHC

National Coming Out Day at CHC

Today, October 11, 2019, we celebrate National Coming Out Day. On October 11, 1987, half a million people participated in the March on Washington for Lesbian and Gay Rights. Ever since then, we have celebrated National Coming Out Day on October 11th.

While many strides have been made in the effort to achieve equality for LGBTQ folks, it is more important than ever to give people an opportunity to come out safely to the rest of the world. Some legal rights won in the past now being challenged, especially for transgender people. We must continue to work together for the rights of all people.

Here at CHC we are proud to serve everyone, no matter what their sexual orientation or gender identity is. Our staff are wearing buttons and bracelets today as a sign of our solidarity with our LGBTQ patients and staff. Please, take a moment today to affirm people you know who have bravely come out.
