The National Center for the Prevention of Community Violence will be presenting Dare Elementary School in Yorktown, Virginia with the first annual “National Caughlin Green Zone Award” for Bullying Prevention on Friday June 09, 2017 at 2:30 p.m.
Bobby Kipper and Sharon Caughlin from The National Center for the Prevention of Community Violence will be presenting the award to Dr. Lindsey W. Caccavale, Dare Elementary principal. Dare Elementary School implemented the Green Zone Bullying Prevention program to help strengthen and unite their children, teachers, parents and community.
Bullying has become a worldwide problem not only in schools, but in homes, communities, workplaces, etc. The National Center for the Prevention of Community violence and Dare Elementary School has teamed up creating the “Green Zone” environment throughout the school. Dr. Caccavale credits the Green Zone with improving the overall school climate since they first implemented the program 3 years ago.
