National Black Business Month
Moseley Technical Services, Inc.
World Class Service. World Class Company.
August is National Black Business Month – it’s a time when we recognize black-owned businesses across the country. Black business owners account for about 10 percent of U.S. businesses and about 30 percent of all minority-owned businesses.
We are proud to be part of an amazing company started by a man who rose against the challenges facing minorities and fulfilled his dream of owning his own business.
Jerry L. Moseley serves as President and CEO of Moseley Technical Services, Inc. (Moseley). Headquartered in Huntsville, Alabama, Moseley was incorporated in 1994 to provide professional services to local aerospace and defense companies. Since then, the company has expanded its business base to provide staffing and recruiting, direct hire, payroll services, and engineering design support to aerospace/defense, government, manufacturing, and commercial industries.
Early in Jerry’s career, while working as a contract employee, he recognized there was a great demand for contractors and a network of individuals that preferred to work as a contractor as opposed to being a direct employee. It was at that time, that he had a clear vision to create a company that provided exceptional service to its clients as well as to its employees.?That single core principle is the cornerstone of Moseley's success and remains the vision of the company today ….

The first full-time job Jerry had was as a drafter, he then continued his career as a mechanical, product, and tool designer, working for companies such as GE Aerospace, TVA, The Boeing Company, and McDonald Douglas. But it was at Aerojet in Iuka MS that he met Debra, the love of his life. They have been married for 26 years, and have three children, three grandchildren, and another grandchild on the way!

Jerry came from humble beginnings. Born in Decatur, AL, the youngest of five (5) brothers, his parents took him to church from a young age and instilled in him good core values that he has carried through life. Jerry has tried to do the same with his kids knowing, “When you’re grounded, it keeps you humble.”

God has always been at the center of Jerry’s life. “God has guided me through some tough times both personally and professionally.”

Jerry’s advice to others who want to start a business:
“Hard work, dedication, and persistence can take you a long way. I am a prime example. I started working at a Grocery Store when I was in High School. I was 15 years old making $2.30 per hour and have worked consistently since that time. Fast forward forty years. Now we have a company that employs in excess of 250 people nationwide.”
