What unique opportunities did your apprenticeship scheme provide you?
A unique opportunity which my apprenticeship scheme offered to me was the ability to go out and network with internal and external customers. This has been through visiting various depots around the UK, seeing how they operate and how much effort goes into the service and quality of Sunbelt Rentals and has overall allowed me to gain a better understanding of the business.
Another memorable opportunity Sunbelt Rentals has provided me was visiting our ‘Greener Solutions’ Event in Reading where I was able to see how the company is continuously expanding into being more sustainable by using electric plant, access equipment, solar powered lights, and Welfare units. This has hugely opened my insight to the necessity of companies becoming more ‘green.’
What advice would you have for anyone thinking of an apprenticeship.
The advice I would give for anyone who is thinking of starting an apprenticeship is to do something which you enjoy and don’t go for the first apprenticeship you see. Coming to work each day knowing I am excited and eager to learn more about my course really motivates me to do the best of my ability and keep developing my capabilities. Also taking considerate time into searching for an apprenticeship really matters as it is the first step into your working career, and you should give yourself the best opportunity possible.

What key aspects of our apprenticeship scheme stood out to you?
One of the key aspects which stood out to me about Sunbelt Rentals’ Apprenticeship scheme was how often in contact you are with your tutor to support you during the transition into the apprenticeship. Starting a brand-new journey as an apprentice I was nervous about overcoming aspects of my role by myself however with my tutor just being a call away and having regular catch ups, alongside the support from my colleagues, I have never doubted being able to finish a difficult task.
Another key aspect which stood out to me was a promised job in Sunbelt Rentals at the end of my course, this stood out to me as when looking for a suitable apprenticeship I was concerned about what I would do after the course was completed as a lot of companies did not offer this opportunity. Whereas without the worry of what will happen after the course, I can more so concentrate on the quality of my work and achieving a high grade.
?What would be the ideal next step in your career in Sunbelt Rentals?
The ideal next step in my career would be to complete my current Level 3 Data Technician Apprenticeship with a distinction and become a qualified Product Data Analyst. Then I would love to carry on doing a higher-level apprenticeship course within Sunbelt Rentals to further my knowledge within the chosen business sector.
