National Account Manager Siobhan tells us all about working at Hovis Ireland.

Today we are heading over to Belfast to have a chat with Siobhan about her role at Hovis Ireland…

What is your position at Hovis and some of your key responsibilities?

I am the (relatively new) National Account Manager for Hovis Ireland Bakeries, covering Northern Ireland? & Ireland retail accounts. It’s my responsibility to build on the continued success and strength of the brand across the Hovis portfolio.?

What was your journey to your current role?

I moved across from Moy Park where I previously managed the Tesco GB portfolio of roast chicken. I’m really enjoying getting to know a different brand and business.?

?What do you enjoy the most about your job?

I enjoy getting stuck into a new challenge and broadening my knowledge base of the agri food industry on the Island of Ireland. I feel like I learn something new each day.

What’s your favourite thing about working at Hovis?

As a newbie walking into a big company it can be a pretty daunting experience. Fortunately my colleagues at Hovis made it so easy and enjoyable for me when I started (and still do!). They’re a friendly bunch, helpful and there to offer support when needed. So I’d say that my team are my favourite thing about working at Hovis.?

Any advice to people wanting to get into the food industry?

My advice would be to find yourself a mentor within the food industry, if possible. This person's advice and guidance is likely to be instrumental in your career progression. The food industry can be complicated to navigate, and a mentor could really help guide you through.?
