Nation Apprenticeships Week at Geosynthetics Ltd
Today is National Apprenticeships week!
Geosynthetics Ltd strongly believe in the success of apprenticeships for companies and young people. As a company we have had several apprentices join us since the company started and still have team members who begun as apprentices and are now permanent team members.
Not only does being an apprenticeship with Geosynthetics Ltd help the apprentices grow and learn in a friendly business environment but they have also added value to our team since they have joined.
To celebrate National Apprenticeship Week, we have been finding out more about why two of our previous apprentices, Hassan and Ross, chose an apprenticeship with Geosynthetics Ltd as their route into their career:
About Ross and His Apprenticeship:
Ross was 18 when he started his Apprenticeship and in October 2023 completed a level 3 Diploma for Business Administration provided by City and Guilds. His apprenticeship took place at Geosynthetics Ltd alongside his college placement at NWSLC Nuneaton campus.
What made you choose to take part in an apprenticeship?
I wanted to pursue my interest in Business as well as to learn what career options were available to me.
Why did you choose to do your apprenticeship at Geosynthetics Ltd?
?With my background in geography and interest in sustainability and being environmentally friendly I thought I would be the right fit for the company.
What did you enjoy most about your apprenticeship?
Working with and getting to know people from my own department and other departments within the business as well as sharing and developing skills.
Were you given a lot of support and guidance during your apprenticeship?
My apprenticeship provider and my colleagues within the company all helped me feel welcome from the start and create an environment where I can prosper as an employee and as an Individual.
What advice would you give to someone who is interested in taking the path of an apprenticeship?
I highly recommend it as an alternative to University or A levels as you get the experience of working as well as the qualification all while earning. By being able to earn a salary while also completely my further education I gained independence a lot sooner than a lot of my friends. I was able to afford my own transport and experience more.
