Nathaniel Simpson Appointed Youi CEO

Leading insurance challenger Youi Holdings Limited (Youi) has announced that Nathaniel Simpson has been appointed as the company’s CEO, effective from July, 1 2023. His appointment follows the retirement of founding CEO Hugo Schreuder who will transition to Youi Insurance ’s Board.

Mr Simpson is a highly experienced insurance executive who has worked at Youi and parent company OUTsurance Group for 17 years and filled various senior executive roles including Chief Product Officer, Chief Operating Officer: Retail, and Chief Customer and Innovation Officer. While he has an actuarial background, Mr Simpson has also led customer, research and development, and operational functions throughout his career.

Youi Chair David Foster congratulated Mr Simpson on his appointment and said the Board looked forward to working closely with him to continue to position Youi as the leading insurance challenger brand for all Australians.

“Youi plays a key role in increasing competition in the Australian insurance market. Nathaniel brings extensive experience to his new role as CEO, and the Board looks forward to working with him on emerging opportunities for our customers, employees and the company overall,” Mr Foster said.?

Mr Simpson said he was looking forward to leading Youi into the future.

Current CEO Hugo Schreuder will retire at the end of June 2023. After a short break, Mr Schreuder will join the Youi Board from the beginning of 2024 to support continuity.

Mr Schreuder’s retirement follows a successful and dedicated 15-year tenure. Mr Schreuder was Youi’s founding CEO when the business launched as a greenfield in 2008 and has been with parent company, the OUTsurance Group, since 2003. He has been instrumental in building the Youi brand and establishing its position as a major challenger in the Australian insurance market. Youi now employs almost 1,800 staff and has a turnover in excess of $1 billion.
