Sizzle into Summer with Nashville’s BBQ!
Nashville isn’t the only one smokin’ during this heat wave; the Music City’s BBQ joints are too – only in a more desirable way. In other words, the heat is on! BBQ is known to be the taste of summer and now that we have officially entered summer (hence the heat), it’s time to satisfy your taste buds!
As Nashville is known for its famous hot chicken, our BBQ game tends to be slept on. Although Nashville isn’t specifically known for BBQ, our food scene consists of joints based out of Memphis, Alabama, and North Carolina. So, covering all these regions and their smoked meat specialties, the Music City’s BBQ game is top tier.
Now that your mouth is watering, let’s sizzle down into some of Nashville’s best BBQ joints:
Featured on Food Network, Travel Channel, and The Today Show, Martin’s Bar-B-Que is West Tennessee’s whole-hog BBQ tradition. Pitmaster, Pat Martin perfected the art of West Tennessee-style smoke and meat in Henderson, TN before coming to Nashville. He opened his first Martin’s Bar-B-Que Joint in 2006 in Nolensville, TN – South of Nashville. Now, Pat continues to spread the gospel of whole hog BBQ and has opened a total of ten locations in the Nashville area, Birmingham, Alabama, Louisville, Kentucky; and Charleston, South Carolina. Not even a block away from the Triband, Martin’s is an easy walk to the pit!
Awarded Best Bar-B-Que in Nashville for four years by The Nashville Scene, Edley’s Bar-B-Que is a family-owned and operated joint and was founded by Will and Catharine Newman in 2011. Edley’s takes pride in not taking shortcuts in the kitchen, with meats being smoked low and slow using Southern white oak. Since Bar-B-Que pairs so well with drinks, Edley’s offers a full bar, including several craft beers on tap. But most importantly, Edley’s is known for their famous Bushwhacker, which is the perfect drink to cool down with, especially is 100-degree weather.

Award-winning Jack’s Bar-B-Que has been a Nashville tradition since 1976 with locations on Broadway, Charlotte Ave, and Trinity Lane – along with being the first casual restaurant on Broadway.
