Nashville’s growth has put the city on “next it” city lists comparing it to Austin, ATL, Miami, etc. How does Nashville compete with these cities?

It doesn't. It connects them.

The value is being the switchboard. We don’t need to be “Us vs. Them”, we can be “Us + them”

With a central location, we can provide value by tethering the other cities together. Nashville wins by adding value to other cities.
