NASBLA Programs Honored With Prestigious Awards

LEXINGTON, Ky. (June 20, 2016) – On June 15, 2016, the National Association of State Boating Law Administrators’ Boat Operations and Training Program was announced as one of six winners of the American Society of Association Executives’ coveted Summit Award.

The Summit Award signifies the elite winners among the recipients of the 2016 ‘The Power of A’ Awards and is bestowed upon associations that make exemplary commitments to creating a stronger America and the world.

"We appreciate the recognition of a program that’s taken six years to build and nurture. The BOAT Program brings the nation together under one training standard and ensures its safety and security through multi-agency interoperability. This national standard of training is reflective of the way associations are uniquely positioned to bring together multiple levels of government in a true spirit of cooperation to further our national interests,” said NASBLA Executive Director and CEO John Johnson, CAE.

This followed the news earlier in the month when NASBLA learned it had achieved two ‘The Power of A’ Gold Awards from ASAE. The BOAT Program won ‘The Power of A’ Gold in The Power to Create a Competitive Workforce Category, and the Operation Dry Water campaign won ‘The Power of A’ Gold in The Power to Enrich Lives Category.

The ‘Power of A’ Awards recognize a select number of organizations annually that distinguish themselves with innovative, effective and broad-reaching programs and activities that positively impact America and the world.
