NASA Chief Astronaut Completes Bangladesh Visit!!

NASA Chief Astronaut Joseph M. Acaba has completed his successful visit to Bangladesh. During the visit, he participated in various activities with youth, educators, government officials, and media representatives.

In a discussion with students, Acaba inspired young people to pursue careers in space science, robotics, STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) and research. He highlighted the importance of space research in solving global problems such as climate change.

In interviews with various media outlets, Acaba highlighted NASA’s contributions to global science and technology. He also discussed how Bangladesh can benefit from collaborating with NASA in space research and technology innovation through the Artemis Agreement. The Artemis Agreement sets a framework for a safe, peaceful, and prosperous future in space, which he hopes will enhance cooperation between NASA and Bangladesh’s growing space and technology sectors.

Joseph M. Acaba is a teacher, hydrologist, and Peace Corps volunteer. In May 2004, he became the first person of Puerto Rican descent to be selected as a NASA astronaut candidate. He will be appointed NASA's chief astronaut in 2023.

Aqaba is an experienced astronaut. He has spent more than 306 days in space on three missions. He has participated in spacewalks and important scientific research on the International Space Station.
