Naperville’s Record Home Sale!
Last November, Naperville achieved a new record sales price with a whopping $8,076,000 transaction. 222 W Van Buren Ave was designed by Charles Cook Architectural Design Studio and was built in 2019. It sits on a 1+ acre lot right outside Downtown Naperville just west of Lou Malnatis and the Apple Store. It has 5 bedrooms, 6.5 bathrooms, a 4.5 car garage, and an absolutely ridiculous 15,451 square feet of space! It also has an outdoor oasis, with an in-ground swimming pool, a luxurious covered living area, and a fire pit.
This home first hit the market mid-September of 2021 with a list price of $14,999,000. They tried this price for about 9 months before deciding to take it off the market. It later came back on the market in February of 2023 with a list price of $12,750,000 where it sat for another 6 months and was canceled AGAIN!
Immediately after, the sellers decided that an auction was the best way to sell this home. They listed the home as an auction with a “suggested price” of $8,200,000 and it ultimately closed for $8,076,000 about 2 months later. The craziest part of this is the buyer paid CASH for this home. The taxes alone on this estate come to $106,934.08 per year!

This BLEW away all other recent sales in Naperville. The next highest transaction in the last 2 years was a measly $3,075,000! But it gets better… This record sales price may be broken again very soon! 1112 Shamrock Ct, Naperville went under contract mid-January and is now pending with a list price of $10,500,000. This home was also on and off the market since 2021. it could very well top Van Buren for the most expensive Naperville closing. Will Naperville break a new record this year? We shall see!
