Nandlal Master, Eradicating Social Evils Through Education

This weaver from a town near Varanasi has made it her goal to empower women and eliminate child labour. Nandlal Master established a learning centre to educate students from the communities surrounding him because many parents cannot afford to educate their children.

His programme now includes approximately 500 pupils from low-income families. He has also been able to do over 700 marriages in order to assist families. He is currently attempting to encourage inter-caste marriages and the abolition of dowry customs.
