The little known Nancy has just been designated France's newest major city, meaning the secret about this hidden gem is well and truly out, writes Hattie Ditton. It's time to go.

Nancy or Grand Nancy (Great Nancy) as it is known has won the status of France's newest "Metropole", joining the likes of Grand Paris, Bordeaux, Lyon, Nice and Marseille-Aix.
